Comprehensive Eye Examinations

A comprehensive eye exam will evaluate not only how well you see, but also identify potential eye diseases. Eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes can result in serious vision loss if not detected and not treated early. We use the latest in computer and laser instruments to ensure the best patient care possible. Through a series of tests, Doctor Valderaz evaluates corrective needs along with complete eye health. He will examine your retina, optic nerve, macula, blood vessels & vitreous by utilizing the retinal photo or dilation. He is also evaluating the surface of the eye for: dryness, disease, irritation, the eye lids, lashes & tear ducts to evaluate any possible impairment to your eye health & vision clarity.

Yearly & bi-yearly eye examinations are necessary for all. Even if one has 20/15 visual acuity, this is no indication that other eye health issues do not exist. Unlike the rest of the human body, the eyes rarely hurt when something is wrong. Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration & Diabetic Retinopathy for instance are all very serious eye conditions that generally are pain free, and if not treaded in early stages can cause irreversible and life changing vision loss. The only way to catch these and many more serious eye conditions at early stages, is to follow the Doctors recommendation for yearly/bi-yearly eye health examinations.

Typically eye exams include:

Medical History
Measurement of visual acuity
Pupil dilation or retinal photo (to evaluate the back part of the eyes)
Intraocular pressure (a Glaucoma test)
Visual field test
Analysis
Diagnosis

Prescription (lenses or medicine)
